Our History

Industry Background

If you were to think of developing a new business in the healthcare field, the old school of thought is that the term “healthcare” encompasses clinical environments, embedded in insurance, hospital systems, and government, and as such is unfit for innovation and entrepreneurship. Now, more than ever, we are seeing the expansion of healthcare innovations such as telemedicine, as well as new policies and systems dedicated to improving healthcare delivery and equity. Entrepreneurship in healthcare today incorporates this new definition, and ViTAL is at the forefront of these new opportunities. ViTAL is an amazing resource for discovering and cultivating your vision within healthcare innovation and entrepreneurship, to learn more and gain the expertise you need.

Club Programming

ViTAL is honored to host a variety of events to offer insight and inspire students from many backgrounds about broad healthcare themes. Join us on Thursdays from 6-7PM EST for an opportunity to meet and network with students and leaders in the industry, learn more about potential co-ops and internships, and take part in interactive workshops to learn more about the non-traditional paths available in healthcare.

Case Competition

Husky Health Innovation Challenge (HHIC) is an interdisciplinary life-science focused case competition. Teams of 3-4 students are given the opportunity to analyze a case centered around a prominent topic in healthcare and present their findings to a panel of judges from academia and industry, and have the chance to win cash prizes!

Consulting

Hosted by the Bouvé College of Health Sciences and Health Sciences Entrepreneurs at Northeastern University, ViTAL Venture Consulting (VVC) is a student-led pro-bono consulting initiative, consisting of undergraduate students with a strong passion for healthcare and interest in applying their skills to tackle real-world problems. VVC allows students to work with startups and growth-stage companies in the health sciences vertical.
